Nearly 11,000 people leave Aleppo’s areas controlled by militants over past 24 hours
Those who agreed to lay down weapons have been amnestied, the ministry said
HMEYMIM/Syria/, December 9. /TASS/. Almost 11,000 people have left the areas of Aleppo currently under control of militants over the past 24 hours, the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Parties said on Friday.
“Over the past 24 hours a total of 10,724 people, including 4,015 children, have left the areas of Aleppo remaining under control of the militants with the assistance of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Parties,” it said.
Thirty militants in Aleppo agreed to lay down weapons and gave themselves up to Syrian troops in the western part of the city, the center said, adding that all of them have been amnestied.
The center continues providing assistance to the local citizens fleeing the quarters of eastern Aleppo.
The Syrian forces launched the offensive of Aleppo in November.
Earlier reports said as of Friday the Syrian army controls already 70% of the eastern part of the city.
“Thirty militants have laid down weapons and gave themselves up to Syrian troops in the western part of the city. Under the Syrian president’s decision made earlier all of them have been amnestied.”
