This recipe is for a delicious and classic easy beef stroganoff.
1 pound beef, cubed
2 teaspoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoon butter
1 small onion, diced
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
3 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
2 Tablespoon tomato paste
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon dill
In a large skillet over high, add oil and heat until hot. Stir in the beef and saute until the meat has browned and liquids have evaporated.
Transfer the browned meat to a plate and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt the butter and add in the onions and mushrooms, sauteing until tender. Add in the garlic, tomato paste and flour,
stirring continuously for about a minute.
Add in about half of the beef broth and the wine. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened.
Re-add the cooked beef to the sauce and then stir in the remaining broth. Cover and simmer on low heat for 1-2 hours, stirring every 20
minutes or so.
At the end, stir in the sour cream, dill and salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over noodles or rice.
